What is Public Service Promise?

We help nonprofit and membership organizations provide their employees and members with the tools and resources they need to navigate the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

Our mission is simple:
to help student loan borrowers achieve
public service loan forgiveness

About us

Public Service Promise (PSP) partners with the professional organizations public servants know and trust, to assist eligible workers in applying for student loan forgiveness.

PSP is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 2019. The organization was originally seeded through a cy pres award in connection with the settlement of a lawsuit regarding Public Service Loan Forgiveness filed by educators. Although the lawsuit was brought with the support of the American Federation of Teachers, neither the individual plaintiffs nor the American Federation of Teachers have any control or oversight of PSP. In 2021, PSP obtained its recognition from the Internal Revenue Service as an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
